Temporary closure of Bilal Masjid to the public due to coronavirus pandemic

19 March 2020 – Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings on His final messenger, Muhammad ﷺ. We ask Allah to grant us patience, to strengthen our reliance on Him, and to increase us in our faith and good deeds.

In line with the most recent advice from the Government, from medical professionals in our community, and after very careful consideration by our Imams in consultation with Islamic scholars and trustees', committee members & other Mosques and centres, we have taken the difficult decision to suspend public access to the Bilal Masjid, including for all prayers and Jumuah (Friday prayer), beginning Thursday 19 March 2020. We will continue to broadcast the adhan, insha’Allah.

We will keep the situation under constant review, and ensure our congregation is informed through our website and social media, insha’Allah. We are also putting measures in place so that our community can get in touch with the Mosque, and we’re looking at ways the Mosque can give support to the vulnerable in our community. May Allah help us all in this time of trial; we should turn to Him in increased devotion through prayer, dua and reading the Qur’an.

Parking Consultation - Meeting Minutes

Date: Thu 15 Feb 2018

Invitees: The committee & some regular attendees

Subject: The Proposals of Parking Campaign

Despite absence of the most of the committee members, we were able to gather the following suggestions:

  1. The month of March will be celebrated as the Parking Awareness Month
  2. Posters + Leaflets + Outdoor display board will be used.
  3. Leaflets will be diversified to retain impact and interest.
  4. Two public consultations will be arranged to educate, seek feedback and suggestions. One of these meetings will be before March and one in the first week.
  5. All regular attendees will be encouraged to actively take action & engage with those who park badly around the mosque.
  6. Regular announcements (atleast twice a week) will be made by different people.
  7. Two jumah khutbahs will be dedicated to highlight the importance of parking discipline, its relation to Rights of People (حقوق العباد) and neighbors rights in Islam.
  8. The campaign will culminate with inviting the council Parking Attendant to issue tickets on the spot in the last week of March.
